Committee Pledge

PB Youth Committee District 39
Cycle 7 of 2017-2018
Committee Pledge

Mission Statement

The PB Youth Committee is the student arm of the Participatory Budgeting process in District 39. We aim to facilitate youth political engagement and inject youth perspective into the PB process, a local democratic staple of our community. As young people, we have a unique understanding of our environment that we will use to effect change in the district and beyond.

In pursuit of these goals, each member of the committee (PB Youth Ambassador) pledges to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Attend at least 3/4 of the PB Youth Committee meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with the committee.
  • Volunteer for at least one poll site during Vote Week.
  • Commit to at least one session of volunteering outside of Vote Week (ie flyering, event organizing, etc.).
  • Make at least two social media posts about your work in the PB Youth Committee during the PB process (for those who have social media accounts).
  • Get at least two other people to vote in PB.

As a committee, our agenda will be to accomplish the following:

  • Promote PB online through social media platforms and initiatives.
  • Generate flyers and other branded content for the PB process.
  • Coordinate a get-out-the-vote (GOTV) initiative for youth.
    • Create a GOTV video for students.
    • Recruit new members to the PB Youth Committee and participants in the PB process.
